Did you receive COVID-19 benefit payments but do not have a T4A slip? What should you do?

You received your COVID-19 benefit but haven’t yet seen your T4A tax slip—now what? If you received COVID-19 benefit payments this year but do not yet have a T4A tax slip, do not worry. If you are registered under CRA’s My Account and have full access, you will also be able to view your tax slip online under your account. That, or you can wait until February of the new year to have your T4A mailed to your home address.

However, if you received COVID-19 benefit payments but did not receive a T4A or RL-1 slip on your CRA My Account or in February of the new year, be sure to contact the CRA by phone or by email to have your problem attended to promptly.

When you call them, you must have the following information ready:

  • Social Insurance Number (SIN)
  • Full name
  • Date of birth
  • Complete address
  • And your personal account open

If you’re calling on behalf of a business, have your:

  • Business number
  • Business name
  • Business address
  • And business account open on your computer

It is rare for the CRA to miss sharing a T4A or RL-1 slip, so be sure to check both your online account as well as your mailbox thoroughly before calling.
